VISIT

EASTBRIDGE

Eastbridge is nestled between the nearby town of Leiston and the village of Theberton. It is a popular destination with cyclists, walkers and bird watchers as RSPB Minsmere bird reserve and Dunwich Heath are just a short walk away. With only a few houses and a village pub popular for its food and folk nights, it’s proximity to woodland, minsmere and the coast make it a relaxing place for a day visit.

VISIT THE EEL’S FOOT PUB

Great food and folk music

The landlords serve delicious food and drink, in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The pub has an extremely special, long standing history of being associated with local folk music. Folk night (‘Squit night’) is every Thursday and a folk club is held on the last Sunday of the month.

WALK THE PUB WALK

Get lost in nature with a 5.5 mile walk

Starting at The Eel’s Foot, this walk takes you through the woodlands, across the heath to Dunwich Coastguard Cottages, down the coast past RSPB Minsmere to the sluice and back to Eastridge past the ruins of the lower abbey.

A SPOT OF BIRD WATCHING

Minsmere Bird Reserve

The sound of bird song fills the air in Minsmere, and you can enjoy viewing many wonderful creatures from Minsmere’s bird hides. Members of the National Trust get in free, but you can pay a day rate upon arrival. This is a short drive or good walk from the village.
