A SPOT OF SHOPPING
Browse the boutiques at the Maltings
As well as being home to the stunning Snape Maltings Concert Hall, you can enjoy a spot of shopping at the Maltings many boutiques. With homeware, food, gifts, books, toys, art, antiques, stoneware and clothing to offer, there is a little bit of something to suit every taste. Check out their latest art exhibition whilst you’re there.
CANOE FROM IKEN TO SNAPE
A gentle and enjoyable family activity
A short way along the River Alde from Snape is Iken, home of Iken Canoe. You can spot their colourful kayaks and canoes a long way off when approaching by foot. Great for a wonderful family outing, you can hire a boat and row all the way to Snape Maltings, grab a bite to eat and a refreshment and row back. Easiest when enjoyed at high tide, but equally fun on a falling tide.
TAKE A GENTLE AMBLE
Enjoy the glorious scenery
Take a relaxed walk over boardwalks and through the reeds from Snape Maltings to Iken. Alternatively take the Sailors Path, through Snape Warren, along the River Alde all the way to Aldeburgh. DINING OUT
Snape is home to several pubs and cafes. The Golden Key, The Crown and The Plough and Sail all offer high quality dining in a rustic setting. The complex of Snape Maltings is also home to several cafes and restaurants.

ALDEBURGH FESTIVAL
June
The Aldeburgh Festival in June offers much more than you’d expect from a classical music festival. You can enjoy new and old music all within the reeds, marsh lands and on the beaches of Suffolk.
SNAPE PROMS
August
Musicians from around the world converge on Snape for a series of outstanding concerts in one of the world’s great concert halls every August. You can enjoy big bands and orchestras, folk groups and solo artists. Be sure to take a look at the Snape Maltings calendar and book early to avoid disappointment.
September
Festival of the new explores some of the most exciting work being made in the UK with two days of freshly devised music and sound. All projects have been developed at Snape on residencies that take place all year round, and sounds range from Hip Hop to contemporary folk and from electronica to experimental jazz.

A fantastic festival for foodies. The Aldeburgh Food and Drink festival has made Snape Maltings its home, bringing together food producers, chefs and specialists from around East Anglia and the UK. With tasters, cooking demonstrations, talks from food experts, this family-friendly festival has a great atmosphere.
